Prompt number three, "penance."
This is my own setting of the Kyrie eleison that I'd actually had in my mind for a while now but not had the chance to put into a DAW or on sheet.
Those of you who aren't aware, the Kyrie is basically an old Greek Christian prayer still in use to this day: it translates to "Lord have mercy." The prayer can be spoken or sung, and many composers have set it to music over the centuries. I opted for a short and simple setting, and I hope that one day, I may get my own choir to sing it too.
I'm not sure how well I did get myself into the mind of a person so contrite over the things they did wrong in their life -- though I have my own history with this. I did my best to feel my way through this piece; there was an element of rushing here as I needed to get it done before midnight. As such, I wasn't going to faff around with much else besides Flex for the instruments.
Anyway, here it is.
