The name of the album is the Greek word for "Lent."
This is a compilation of tunes I composed during the season of Lent in 2021, based on a series of 40 prompts for each day in Lent, curated by my beloved and myself. I did these as a nightly contemplative exercise.
Each of these was done on a single night, with the sole exception of yatse ya!, which needed to be chipped away at in a few sittings. Each of these tracks was released on the same night, or on the next night if I was too ill. I had temporary, partial hearing loss during the making of most of these tracks, so if they do turn out to be mixed remotely well, I feel it's a miracle to be honest.
To prepare myself for that challenge, as well as my social media abstinence, I drew this image of myself in stasis in some purple liquid. The colours I might have worn before immersion peel away in the image, to only leave myself, my vulnerable frame.
I decided to release this album a good bit before the start of Lent 2022, as a few people were hoping to undertake this challenge with me, and I want to give them an example to go by.
I hope that this compilation takes you on a fulfilling journey.
